MMS/SMS Help needed!

I am in the process of submitting a tender for project but has run into an issue. The client want users to be able to send files/test via mobile phones through SMS and MMS.

This thing is new to me and I seem to be running into brick walls.

Taking the process backwards I (think!!) I know that my php script will deal with an SMS/MMS gate way (such as NowSMS) that should be installed on a server on my web host. That then communicates with SMSC and MMSC accounts that I set up with providers.

If that sounds vague it is because it is. Has anybody had any experience in receiving SMS and MMS input to there web site. If yes, can you recommend a web host/SMSC providers as the more I google the less I seem to find out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
