I haven't done much research as far as pricing goes on website hosting, but with my small site I pay $8 a month (around 25 megs of space, light traffic). I've only compared with a few other sites, so I'm curious as to know if I'm getting a great deal or not?

I agree with rose, they are great!

I have had minimal downtime, and it is always very fast. And with one gig of storage you can't beat it :-p

For the amount of space you need that price is a bit high. Look around and you may find some better deals for small sites.

ok not trying to be a bad guy here but

1. PowWeb insanly oversells.
2. I'm sure you could find a lil something for $2 for such a small site.
3. I am starting a hosting company soon and I should have the servers ready by next month/year  Just the site wont be done....if you are willing to go without my site being up for awhile then I could give you 50 megs space and 500 megs bandwidth for $1.50 - $1.99

And Im not trying to spam here or anything im just showing you that its possible to get what you need at a low low price in other places....yea that comes with alot more but do you need it? :D

WOW! so you can set up 10 websites or you can set up as many as you want!

Sounds too good to be true and I would need to test a client website fot that.

no no....its 10 users...like i guess if you were to have 10 people that edit the site.... just 10 usernames and passwords to get to the same FTP/hosting account.

Guess you get what you pay for!

well in webhosting terms...overselling is like.... if they have (we are going to use small numbers) if they have 10 gb of transfer to sell... they might sell 3 or 4 plans with 5 gb of transfer....because they know that they are not going to use all of there bandwidth so they sell it again...im not saying other hosts dont do it...but thats why my hosting site is for small sites....so i cant oversell (cuz i would be tempted to if i were hosting lager accounts  )

Gotcha, that makes sense but for what it's worth 7.77 a month still isn't a bad deal.

Well first off kyle you dont know that they do that --- generalising doesn't help either side.

Secondly, they have a good reputation for excellent standard packages and I have to say since I have been with them I haven't had a problem, I've actually begun to make a lot of money out of their referral program in just 4 months.

So I will probably never use the 1000 meg of space or the bandwith, but I don't doubt that either will be there when I need them.

1. You don't have your facts right.
2. "wasnt tryin to fight", then why do you keep retorting?
3. If you continue being such a smartass people will take offense to it.

1. How do i not have them right?
2. I only retorted to rose because she had her lil attitude. Before I thought you and I were simply having a conversation, my bad guess not.
3. Likewise

1. Its $7.77 NOT four dollars.
2. Rose had no attitude at all, and we were never having just a little "conversation".
3. The only person I'll be offending is you, and personally that doesn't phase me.

2. if we were never havein a lil convo then maybe it was you who was being the smartass.
3. Doesnt phase me either so go for it, because i dont have time for dumba$$ arugements online...if you really wanna fight bring it to my door.

65 is half of 130, however powweb supplies only 65 gb of banwidth, not 130gb. Therefore you were wrong with your four dollars.

Don't go, I'll miss you.

Come on guys, that's more than enough.

I wasn't being a smart ass kyle, I was merely saying that you don't know for a fact they oversell their bandwith.

Now everyone just chill out, it's Monday morning and a wonderful sunny day here :D

So let me send you some sunshine

heh you think that's unreal, check out these guys: http://yrhost.com/
I'm on the $25 a year plan for one of my sites (the one that's in my sig at the moment, to be accurate), and I love these guys. I will definately be setting up all my future account with them. Also, I have a monitoring software eating up my bandwith checking that the site is still there once every hour, and in the 3 weeks I have had an account there, my site has always appeared as it should be.

I would recommend these guys to anyone.
