Hi

I know that .net TLD's are except from WHOIS privacy unlike .co.uk domains where your personal details can be hidden.

If you registered a .net TLD, would the data have to be accurate? If you made up a load of rubbish, what is the worst that could happen?

I've googled around with little luck.

No-one would know or care. I use to have a .net domain with nonsense in the whois fields by accident - I just didn't know any better. Why would you want to disguise yuorself though?

My friend as had the same site ranked high on all the search engines and his info is something like Diabolic world with some fake address and phone numbers. No one cares to check. Worst thing is you cant really get any offers on your site if someone wants to pay you big $$$ for it.....

You can always pay for a private registration or use a POB. The most critical information that requires acurracy are the email address of the Admin contact.
