Hi,
I want to register my own nameserver. For that I bought a domain xxx.com . Now I want namesevers like ns1.xxx.com and ns2.xyz.com
How do I do this? Does any DNS entry required. If the answer is yes please tell me briefly.

Hope, someone will help me.

Hello e-njoy,

May I ask which registrar you are with? (If its one Im familiar with I can give you the old play by play :) )

Essentially, with every registrar, you need to setup name servers -

1) Establish naming (ie ns1.domainname.com & ns2.domainname.com)

2) Your hosting provider needs to provide you with 2 dedicated IP's (or 2 service IP's that can be used to establish nameservers) - depending on your control panel, you should be able to log into your reseller account and determine what the assigned IP's are for ns1 and ns2. Take these IP's and attach them to your name servers at your registrar.

If you are with godaddy - this functionality is found under DNS host summary

If you are with eNom it is found under domains, advanced, create nameservers..

Hope this helps...
