How large of files, do you have an idea of how much space you need?

Hostgator might be a good place to look at. They offer quite abit of space and alot of bandwidth.

They allow streaming video and audio on all their shared hosting plans.

Hosting videos, audios and ebooks of very large file sizes will not only require huge diskspace but you will have a look for a host who will offer you great bandwidth and account on a great server with enough guaranteed RAM for your account.
Most host attract new clients by offering "unlimited diskspace/bandwidth" but once you reach a certain limit either your account is suspended or
you are forced to move on a dedicated server, SO beware of such "UNLIMITED" Host.

For your video intensive site shared hosting will not be a better option, you should consider VPS or a dedicated server.

You should probably look into a dual hosting environment... meaning...

Look into serving your pages from a normal host... and look into serving your videos using the rtsp:// from a dedicated video hosting company...

Otherwise your normal host will kick up a fuss about you hogging bandwidth... depending...

Check lunarpages.com plans, see also siteground.com and marblehost.com, they seem to be the right options for that.

To save space and bandwidth you need FFMPEG hosting which allows you to convert your video files to the flash files. This way you will save lots of space and bandwidth. Just do a google search of FFMPEG hosting and you will see lots of hits.

Best wishes,

for what you are wanting, forget VPS and shared hosting, Move to a dedicated hosting plan my friend.

Yes dedicated hosting plan is the only choice if the visitors to the site are large. However, for small networking sites shared hosting with a dedicated IP still may work quite well.

it could do, but you would benifit more from dedicated hosting, I guess http://www.hostgator.com would be good to look at as they do some dedicated plans :P

you can go with servage hosting... they provide large hosting for video, music or multimedia sites which required large hosting space in cheap price... I have used their hosting service for a year without any problem... downtime is normal like others popular hosting companies... if you need discount coupon ... you can reply me... thanks

Guess you need something like a VPS or dedi for your purposes. I can recommend you Ahosting.biz as their their dedis are rather cheap and you may choose what you need from them at affordable prices. Think they'll be useful for you.

If you are streaming large videos you will most likely need a dedicated server, chances are on a shared server during any kind of heavy traffic you will crash the server. If you don't want to pay for a dedicated server you could consider posting the videos elsewhere and embedding them into the page.

Hope this helps
