I want to get all those things working on a windows XP (sp2) machine. What i'm missing is mysql support for PHP... how do i get this to work? I know something is wrong because i get the error "cannot load MySQL extension, please check PHP Configuration". when trying to launch PHPmyAdmin. Here are the versions of the software i'm using:

apache_2.0.54-win32-x86-no_ssl
php-5.0.4-Win32 (zip package)
phpMyAdmin-2.6.3-pl1
mysql-5.0.7-beta-win32

any help in getting php to interface with mysql would be greatly appreciated. thanks

First thing I would do is uninstall that mysql beta and install the latest stable release before even trying diagnose this issue
