problem with bandwidth ( 1and1 )

i got an serious problem with that , the amount of bandwidth i used in 1 day is to much for my site ( just a regular 4rum ) and i dont upload any downloadable stuff for my member , but it just go over 300mb of bandwidth / day ( wth is going on (

the one on 8/6 is the day that my host just unlocked , ( it was locked because over amount of bandwidth , 5gb/m (

it sounds like you have some large images on the forum that probably could be reduced in size.

Have not you got any Stats?
You may see which pages/files requested how many times by whom with awstats+urchin+analog+webalizer ...

a 180KB header could be the problem - imagine for every 5 page views 1mb bandwidth is used

Not every 5 page views spend 5*180kb, this would be only for individual 5 users page view or from a single user that refresh the page for 5 times but cleaning its cookies between every refresh
