In your code above you are simply trying to block an IP that is visiting your site, as if you are simply trying to block one surfer. If he is indeed hitbotting you then chances are he isnt hitting from his server, but through a bunch of proxy servers which could be thousands of IPs. So the way to block this guy from getting any traffic to your server isn't by blocking ips. What you need to do is simply block or redirect his traffic based on the referrer tag that is passed by the browser (which is how your script counts traffic, it doesnt count by the ip, it counts by what is passed in the referrer tag).

Anyway try using the following code to block traffic coming from his site:

Code: [ Select ]
Options +ExecCGI +FollowSymLinks
AddHandler cgi-script .cgi
AddHandler cgi-script .pl

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://ssip.net [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://www.ssip.net [NC,OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://hotmodels.ssip.net [NC]
RewriteRule /* http://www.ssip.net/ [R,L]
  1. Options +ExecCGI +FollowSymLinks
  2. AddHandler cgi-script .cgi
  3. AddHandler cgi-script .pl
  4. RewriteEngine On
  5. RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://ssip.net [NC,OR]
  6. RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://www.ssip.net [NC,OR]
  7. RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://hotmodels.ssip.net [NC]
  8. RewriteRule /* http://www.ssip.net/ [R,L]

That will basically send the traffic right back to his site. If you want to redirect the "fake" traffic someplace else edit the last ilne that says RewriteRule and put the domain you want it to be directed to.

Brian....i added the htaccess file like you posted however hits still seem to be coming through, about 200 uni, 2000 raw hits in today which is much less then what it was, but still going through any idea why?

Are there any other domains besides the three above that traffic might be coming from?

I am not sure, that code above should stop it all, are you sure those hits just weren't from earlier from before you installed the code?

That worked for me, thanks much.

I got hit with a site linking to my downloads for 30gigs yesterday, just from one site. Thanks to your info, I've redirected their link to a "male-friendly" site.

if your using cPanel you could also block the IP.
