protect with .htaccess

Hi all,

Please help.
I want to protect my pictures folder. And when i go in htaccess:

AuthName "Section Name"
AuthType Basic
AuthUserFile /full/path/to/.htpasswd
Require valid-user

It asks me to enter user and pass when i load home page, because i use files from pictures folder.
I just want to prevent someone to enter mysite.com/pictures folder.
