you can register only a domain or an entire hosting package. it depends on what you want...

Always best to purchase domain first then hosting.

Just so you know, if you haven't already bought the domain name yet, it's not very wise to post what you're going to buy in a public forum that receives as much attention as this one does :)

You don't want someone to register it first and then sell it back to you for a profit.

DNS services and parking. Everything else is extra including but not limited to hosting. Which I strongly suggest you get elsewhere.

they're not necessarily buying it to piss you off... but just because they see a cool name that they could make some money off it, and they figure if you've posted the URL in one place, you've posted it in other webmaster forums, and thus already getting clicked on (by people and search engines).

They're not doing it to piss you off, they're doing it cuz they're assholes and figure it's worth the extra 5 bucks/mo they may make off it :)

no, it's a domain name. Why not go to http://www.godaddy.com and look at their FAQ?

What is it that you WANT to get with your domain name?

Well, when you just buy the name, you just get the name. You want hosting, you gotta buy hosting.
