Let me explain.

Let's say the location of my site is http://ftp.host.com/enselic/.

Let's also say I have registred enselic.com.

How would I do if I wanted ftp.host.com/enselic/ to be replaced with enselic.com?

Well... you could ask your hosting provider to set up your domain name on their server, then switch your NS addresses to their DNS address.

Or, you could get a free DNS account at ZoneEdit.com, and do that yourself, and use their phantom, or shadow, or ghost or whatever the hell the call it to redirect people to the real URL when they enter your domain name... that's a little less functional than getting your hosting provider to help you, but its doable that way.

the first step would be to ask whoever runs your webserver to see if they will help you. If not, then, either find another hoster (there are PLENTY), or use something like ZoneEdit.
