Hello!

I bought the domain http://www.hungarybudapestguide.com in January (from a Danish company), and since then the page has developed and become a page with several languages. The biggest problem now is.

For example http://no.hungarybudapestguide.com (I have several other subdomains like this as well... se, fr, nl and so on) is in norwegian, but since the server the page is on is located in Denmark, the page does not show up when someone from norway is searching google for pages from norway. This is not so good, and because of this I am losing many visitors.

What should I do to solve this? Should I buy a new domain (with server in Norway, and then just forward the visitors to the new domain? Will the PageRank remain then, or will I start from 0 again?) Or are there easier ways to solve this?

Thanks a lot for your help :)

I don't think the location of the server has anything to do with it. If I search Google for "guia de argentina", (guia == guide), I get a web page located in Argentina. I'm searching from New York.

Siggiboy,

The location of the server does not matter for this. The only effect server location would have is the time is takes for the page to load (connection speed). If you're looking to be better indexed in Google, you may want to invest in other domain extensions. For example:
hungarybudapestguide.fr
hungarybudapestguide.se
hungarybudapestguide.dk

This will help you gain better results on Google in those countries rather than using subdomains (http://no.hungarybudapestguide.com)

If I would buy for example hungarybudapestguide.no and send all traffic from the subdomain to the new address, would the new address start with pagerank 0, or would that as well be transferred?
