Hello Everybody.

I'm a Linux Niewbie and i'm trying to setup a linux server for a portal that needs tomcat.

Is it possible to use tomcat as Web server without using apache?

I read something about jsvc but it didn't work.

Any suggestions or any good tutorials?

Thanx in Advance

IIRC, all you require is apache tomcat. It's a JSP server, which provides dynamic content using java applets.

I suggest you look up tomcat on the apache site as park of the Jakarta project.
