Hi,
I'm too new to all this... Here goes...I want to have a small website put together only as a business plan for a company I'm starting.

It will be quite simple "as websites go" and only contain boring stats, as most business plans do....

and I'll be providing links along the way for supportive reference on information I'm providing in the plan itself....

maybe a teeny glitz as well.

The site will last for 1 to 3 months...hopefully not even a month...
and the ability to only allow access to specific parties would be a real feature as well.

Question .....

Please give me some ideas of who to use to host... and how to cheaply design (probably myself) the site.

I'm not too cheap, but any "real" dough will be spent on the real business...dough I haven't got yet.

Thanks for any ideas.

Or am I being sophomoric on all this???
Regards,
Stocky

I would classify this as a valid query.

What software are you using to build the business plan? I have used Business Plan Pro before;
http://www.paloalto.com/ps/ppc/ppc_bpp2 ... KNC-google

This software can export the entire plan as HTML.

As for hosting, if you are planning on using the domain for the business, I would suggest getting it (yearly) and hosting it (monthly). There's plenty of good hosts on here -- notably Unflux and Cartika -- who would be more than happy to aid you in this endeavor, I'm sure.
Cost is minimal for the minor plans; roughly $8 a month for the hosting and at last verification, no more than $19 for the year of domain name ownership.

Altogether, your best bet.

Of course, there are some hosts which permit you to subdomain;
yourname.their_domain.ext

However, if you intend to use the plan to obtain angel investors or VC I suggest going the more professional route of purchasing your own domain.

Cheers.

What the bloody hell are you talking about?

Certainly not my link? All I did was search for Business Plan Pro via google, went to the site that was up and c&p the results.

Who is pissa? I am at a loss here. I went to my link with both FF and IE and I see no pop-ups, if that is even what you were talking about.

I am going to assume you were not referring to me, at least, that had better be the case.

Yeah, Stocky - I'm confused as well. I'm sitting here looking at the Business Plan Pro link as well, and no pop-ups. If you got advertising pop-ups when you went to that page, then you need to check your computer for adware, because it's the only way you would have gotten pop-ups.

I'm sorry...I lost it... nobody's fault but mine.
String of bad luck...
my pc is cleaner then most...
the pop ups were all the same... and all from that website...
must 've been a rapid fire glitch of some kind ???

I have business plan templates. I just need to get the page and host.
maybe I'll come across a site that does both somewhere for short $.

ps just read my last entry... what an ass i am.
