hello everybody!

hope this is not too rude to ask for help on the first post, but i'm going crazy!

i'm running my website (http://ofmooseandmen.no-ip.org) on my own computer (mac mini 1.5GHz & 1GB) and everything used to go smoothly until recently...the website is almost never accessible though you can ping it (using either the ip or the url).

i got apache 1.3 running with two virtual hosts (one for phpmyadmin and one for the website itself), php and mysql (plenty of memory for the buffer). my router is a DI-624 for which i enable the http routing on port 80.

the weird thing is that if you succeed logging on onto it, just surf a little while and then all the connections will timeout...

anyone, please

I see the D-Link gateway, though port 80 is not open.
Perhaps the web server is not actually running?

If you are on the mac, can you open safari and go to localhost?

Did this ever work from the outside? What changed prior to the failure?

localhost and ofmooseandmen.no-ip.org work on safari...plus sometimes it does work from the outside!
the only thing i can remember changing was installing a "security update"....and therefore restarting the computer...but the apache server is up and running...
i'll try and see why the port 80 is not open...

thanks a lot Daemonguy! by the way how do you see that the port 80 is not open?
