HI.
I'm working on Joomla based web site with Virtuemart.

Main purpose of this site is access of product information and pricing for groups like Retail, Wholesale and other.
Secondary objective that will be implemented is virtue mart store.
Online purchase will be available using this online store.

Main concern is stability , security and end-user friendly of non retail accounts and information. Also purchase transactions and there accounts will need to be secured.

I'm not too crazy about top notch security.
But id like security that is balanced between cost(free if applicable) and practicality and user friendly.
"the best for the money" sort of speak.

My testing server is Ubuntu server(LAMP).
I'm familiar with linux to fallow any shell instructions.
I do prefer Linux hosting providers vs. server that I set up my self using company hardware.Reasons is connection speed and off site hosting. But if you think it is possible for me to use standard DSL connection to host my company site I will check in to that.

Thank you.

A lot of web hosting companies support Joomla and a slew of other CMS'. It shouldn't be hard to find :)

I agree but:
I'm more concerned about the secure transaction side of this whole project.
Like secure check out and other aspects of the site.
Thank you

I'd advise you to check out service that glowhost, this company has supported many scripts including the one the OP needs.
Hostgator is one more company that deserves your attention.

I think if you are going to be using a shopping cart look for hosts that offer cPnael, a dedicated IP, and an SSL cert.

Just about any linux host will be able to handle joomla.

Linux web host and then all depend on your sizes. If you you are small that can be shared web host (hostgator.com, hostjava.net), then VPS for middle size (Vpsland.com, pivotalweb.com) and finally dedicated server (rackspace.com, theplanet.com)
Good luck

If I were you I would look at marblehost.com web hosting offers - their web hosting service also comes with preinstalled scripts. You can use their control panel and your scripts will be installed. It offers 30-day money back guarantee, so you will lose nothing if you give them a try.

If you are looking for reliable web hosting provider which is able to host your Joomla project, I believe that webhostgiant.com will be one of the best options. The thing is that it offers 50% off all the plans - your should be in a hurry because it is time-limited offer.
