What is NSV (Nullsoft Streaming Video) hosting?

I have accidentally found this service at santrex.net, and wonder what could it be used for? For watching movies online? Like a cinema, or TV?

Just tell me how and what for it is used.

Obviously, the NSV is used for video hosting and streaming. This should be some alternative to ffmpeg, and unlike other streaming service this looks like the internet television.

Thanks joice. I do not know if I prefer this to ffmpeg streaming, but still it was useful to know about it.

I have heard that Glowhost.com offers FFmpeg hosting support for your streaming video applications. FFmpeg and the other modules allow you to upload standard video formats like MPEG and convert them on the server side into Flash Video files. I have successfully and relatively painlessly dealt with this company and never had any problems with the uptime.
