I can look into giving you .info for several bucks. What volume do you expect you'll need?

GoDaddy is good, but i think one slight catch was that they don't provide DNS for that low price.

Man, I tell ya, everybody and their Uncle's sister's cousin uses GoDaddy. That said, I'm sure they're pretty reliable, but you can get cheaper domains.

I can't vouch for it yet, but I've heard good things about directi.com. Their domain names would cost me $6.75 and they do accept paypal.

Also, if you're not afraid of WorldPay, you can check out ClickAName.com. They have excellent service and it only costs $7.50 per domain. They're part of prowebspace.com. (It's a UK company that I've been hosting through for a year and a half)

You SURE about that?

There's several options in the Domain Management console for managing your DNS settings.

There's the regular "set your nameserver" area, and this one:

Domain Host Summary
Domain hosts are not required unless, for example, you intend to set up your own DNS.We recommend that you DO NOT use this tool unless you have a thorough understanding of this process.

BTW - Resellers under GoDaddy can usually sell everything for a little less than Daddy does. Used to be more difference between them (GoDaddy = 7.95, lowest reseller price = 7.85 - all uses their system, service and support.) Free stuff with each domain. And some of the other products have better savings.

Others mentioned above are outside of the US and UK - if that matters to anyone.

Actually, I've heard that GoDaddy won't make glue A records for you.

Not sure how true this is, but I've heard it from two sources. I would think that they would somehow, as glue records are important for most hosting companies. It must just be hard to find. (Again, I've never actually used, GoDaddy, that's just what I heard.)

RE: Glue A DNS Records - I contacted tech support for GoDaddy/GimmeMyDomains, and you can use total DNS control to manage your Type A records etc.

You can get domains for $1.99 right now as long as you buy any non-domain product, otherwise about $8 on either.
