Well depends on how big the company it is, How long it has been running for and many other factors.

If you look at the likes of " godaddy " they have been running for years and have millions of customers. Its very reliable and a trusted website.

I am not at all saying that you can't trust canadian websites, But i like to play it safe and stick with what I can trust.

SiberName.com has been in the web hosting business since 2000. 8 years already! Good sign. And they provide to reg not only generic domains but a lot of other ones. Sibername has even started to pre-apply for .asia domain. Seem truested for me.

Never thought that a Canadian domain registrar can provide registartion in .asia zone. Think SiberName.com grows up.

SiberName.com has a 2008 Special: Domain Names from only $11.65, 1 page web site hosting included.
.EU domains from $8.96!
So cheap domain.

This offer is on SiberName.com web site and I have seen the other one - they pre-apply for .asia domain. What do you think of this offer from the Canadian domain registrar?

I use http://www.diywebhosting.ca
I don't have to register too many .ca domains, but I have a reseller account with them and get a bit of a discount on the regular domains.
Not only is it local, but every support ticket I've ever issued has been handled pretty much within the hour.

SiberName.com provides domain registration both generic and Canadian; they are ICANN, Eurid and CIRA accredited and this fact means much for their users as it judges about their stability.
Just my two cents.

Good point. The CIRA accreditation seems fairly hard to come by.

But why? Is it something like ICANN-accreditation?
What is annual turnover must be?
If SiberName.com has overcome it, they must be solid and stable.

Netfirms.ca is one Canada-based registrar.
I like Sibername.com pricing, though, they also have a forum community that may tell a lot about company's policies.
