Senior Linux Software Engineer - Sunnyvale CA

This is for a large digital television/video software company that is a market leader in their field. This is an exciting new media industry.

The V.P. of Engineering is a Ph.D. who used to teach at Stanford and is also a patent holder. He is extremely personable, friendly and people-oriented. It will be very rewarding to work in a development team under his leadership.

Responsibilities:

- As part of the System Software group, participate in the architecture design for the next generation of broadcast data services.
- Code modules of the core operation system, memory, I/O driver, and low-level device driver in Linux
- Work with the QA department as required.
- Work with the Manufacturing department as required.
- 4 years knowledge and experience in Linux device driver.
- Working knowledge on MPEG video and audio drivers is a plus.

Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of five years experience in software development.
- Minimum of four years experience in Driver Development in Linux.
- Well versed in C development.
- Very desirable: Working knowledge of network protocols: UDP/IP
- Very desirable: Knowledge in VxWorks Device Driver
- Desirable: Digital video experience, especially MPEG.
