My operating system is Windows XP Home Edition SP 3 and inside my computer are 2 GB of RAM (DDR 2). So I need a help with upgrading my computer. I am thinking, could I use new DDR 3 RAM for my computer and how much Windows XP Home Adition SP 3 can handle RAM.
Thanks for help and please give me feedback but only people which are sure about what they are talking.

Also I would like to get some recommended ram types. For example Kingston, Corsair, Samsung and so on.

Regards

I highly doubt your motherboard supports DDR3. The best you can probably do is add two more GB of DDR2.

just add on here, if you have 32 bit XP then you can only use ~3GB of RAM, you are also limited by how many slots your motherboard has and how much RAM it is compatible with.
