Adding Fonts

Hi every1 , can any1 help me with this question :
How do i add a new font ? I know , go to C:// Windows - Fonts , but then where those fonts appear ? And how can i use them ? Im making sense ?

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel
Double click on "Fonts"
Then on the file menu, select "Install New Fonts"...
When the box comes up, simply navigate to where your new font files are, select the one(s) you wish to install, and make sure you check the box to copy the files to your fonts directory (that way, if you delete the files you downloaded, or you're installing fonts from a CD, when the files no longer exists, errors don't start popping up).
