Ever been in the middle of your work concentrating hard and out of the clear blue you get a message that pops up in your screen that says messenger? usually something like get your free diploma with out going to school or free porn etc.. well heres how to put an end to all that.

In windows 2000:

Click Start->Programs->AdministrativeTools->Services
Scroll down and highlight "Messenger"
Right-click the highlighted line and choose Properties.
Click the STOP button.
Select Disable or Manual in the Startup Type scroll bar
Click OK

Windows XP:

ClickStart->Control Panel
Click Administrative Tools
Double click Services
Scroll down and highlight "Messenger"
Right-click the highlighted line and choose Properties.
Click the STOP button.
Select Disable or Manual in the Startup Type scroll bar
Click OK

Windows 98/ME:

Remove the file and printer sharing from your network configuration
