anooying new folder

i have this new folder that keeps poping up on my desktop. i delete it and it comes right back. i scanned with nortons and i dont have any viruses, adaware and spybot came clean too, im clueless. im runing win xp

Do you have the fully updated version of Norton? It may be a new virus that Norton doens tknow how to fix yet.

Turn off system restore. Delete it. Empty your Recycle Bin and turn restore back on. See if that takes care of it.

atno i havent tryed that because i noticed that folder apears whenever i log in and out of AIM(aol instant messenger). this puzzled me i went into settings and i couldnt find anything, anyone have any clues ?

Is there anything in it, it may be the download folder for aim. someone may have renamed it and changed the dir to where it goes, it is doable.

I think StarScre4m- might be on the right track there. CHeck your preferences and see if you have a file path in the file transfer location. If so, clear it, or change it to where you want it.

wow i cant belive i forgot that, i set up aim so that i can download software off my computer from a remote location once and the directory to share was desktop\newfolder :( i feel like such a n00b
