That sounds like the blaster worm. Anyone else agree?

Hello

You've got the Blasterworm,

I found a link to get the patch too download to stop this worm and to be back as normal..

http://www.microsoft.com/security/incident/blast.asp

That page should tell you everything about it.
If the NT Autority thing pop's up do the following:

1)Start, Run
2) Type: shutdown -a

That shall stop that for the time being.

Hope this helps.

i have a pretty good idea that this worm comes in thru IE not sure about that but i have dealt with atleast 7 instances of this worm 2 of which freshly reformated and got infrected within ten minutes.

After this worm you might want to get a good firewall and AV program cuz there pretty much a must now a days. The internet has become a scary unsafe place.

Not sure why but i have seen cases were the updates that fix windows have slowed the comp down significantly anyone have any ideas as too why?

Agree!

Ya! But the problem can be resolved forever, just do an update of your Windows mate!, Click! START and click! “Windows update”, the pathes will immune you.
