Autoplay Music CD

For some reason I can't get my CD drive to autoplay music CDs. In that drive's porperties I have already set it to start playing music CDs in Winamp. Not working. Any idea? Thanks.

what is the model of your cd player.
have u tried to uninstall it and install it again.

Thanks for replying.
The CD-ROM came with the Dell computer. System says it's a Lite-On LTN 486 48x Max.
I'm not sure how to uninstall and re-install it. Hardware isn't my specialty :?

start / control panel / system properties. Click on the hardware tab then device manager button. A dialog box with a directory tree of all your hardware will appear. Look down to where it says "dvd/cd rom drives" open that branch and find your cd rom listed. Click on the drive you want, right click and click uninstall. Youll be prompted yes or no to uninstall it. Uninstall the drive, then shut down and restart your computer and windows xp will pick it up as new hardware installed and reinstall it. If that doesnt solve your problem, then go to the manufacturers website and look for specific solutions or updated drivers.
