avg 6.0 cannot detect wupdater.exe

hello again im having this wupdater.exe when logging off i have a AVG 6.0 ANTI VIRUS but the virus still persist... please help. thank you.
im also having trouble with my microsoft office word where i cannot save my recent docs.

I'm going to take a stab in the dark that you have or had Kazaa. If you still have it get rid of it. It's nothing but a channel for adware and spyware. Keenvalue_myfreecursors includes wupdater.

It's not a virus - just spyware and adware crap.

Another good spyware remover is spybot. You can go to downloads.com to get it or do a google search.

:) hi everyone Was looking for info on wupdater.exe and could find nothing helpful so i took matters into my own hand and removed it manually from my computer.

Start xp in safe mode then go to command prompt. Make sure you are in the c: directory and delete the file updaterinstall_112.exe.
The go into programfiles/commonfiles/and delete the folder updater. Thats it removed and gone. I hope this helps.

I get a lot of spyware come up as a virus on AVG myself

re: Ausielamb's post (and also to mention this is an old post) wupdater is easily removed by Adaware and/or Spybot S&D.
