basic disk offline on w2k8

I can't seem to figure out how to put my SATA hdd online in disk management on Windows server 2008. When I boot in Vista t shows it as online and works well, but have problems with 2008.

Does your BIOS support SATA and is it enabled?

yes it does, I got 2 Sata drives, both showing in Bios.

Is there a limit as to how many SATA drives it can handle?

My MB can handle 4 Sata drives. The 2 I have shows up properly with Drives letters on Vista, and 2008 sees the drive, but can't seem to be able to add letters to the drive as shown on the pic

Looking at another forum, it seems that you might have to format the drive first.
