So I just downloaded the free version of windows xp pro 64 bit edition. I was wondering if anyone had tried it or is using it, and if there is anything they though I should know.

Man, they weren't kidding were they?

*proudly running WinXP in "Classic" interface mode*....

Well, not proud that I'm running XP, but proud that it's in Win2K style interface ;)

Maybe only safe mode is free? You have to pay for normal mode?

Jokes aside, does it require a 64 bit processor to run? could that be the problem? Any errors?

it does require an athlon 64, I have a 3400. it should work, but normal mode is just hanging, no errors at all. it is a bit baffeling. and the normal mode is free too smart ass. heh. it is a 365 day trial.

they probably wont release a 64bit edition and just tranfer 64 bit to the longhorn OS. if not they will do something very assholish or microsoft like and release the 64 bit xp 6 months before longhorn release longhorn 32 then 6 months later longhorn 64 and then you have to pay 100 bucks for the upgrade.

thats just my opinion i could be wrong
