My friend has a computer Windows XP and just got a new HDD.

He wants to edit the boot.ini file to boot off of either HDD as he has previous versions of software on there for some of his clients.

I think this is how you let up the boot.ini file for two drives on one ribbon both on cable select ...

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP OLD" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

I just have not done this in ages ... last time I did I had a dual boot with Linux, not double windows ... I am trying to kick start my gears and google is not helping this time around.

Any suggestions?
