Hi,

Iam not able to change the read-only attribute of any folder in my windows xp system. If I uncheck the readonly attribute and apply changes,it dosent take effect. It gets back to rad-only when I open it again.Do I need to do anything else to change the file and folder permissions. Please let me know.
Regards,
vijaya.

Hi,

When I give attrib \? it says "Not a recognised internal or external command"

Hence not able to use attrib to change the read-write property of the folder.
Please let me know what needs to be done.

it should not matter if a folder is read only windows always sets folders attributes to read only. you should still be able to modify the contents and you should be able to change the folder name and move it with windows explorer.
