I am having trouble clearing a users stored password information in IE6. We have tried to clear the forms and passwords, etc in the Internet Options, but that doesn't work. We've cleared temps, cookies, history, etc. and nothing has helped. We eventually have had to reimage the computer to get it to clear the user/password information. It is in an authentication window that pops up (similar to a window if you use .htaccess file), not an html login window.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

If you are talking about the NT Authentication Login, when the "Enter Network Password" comes up, leave the username and password but uncheck the box for "Save this password in your password list". Log in. Close IE and reopen it to the same page. The password and username should be cleared.

This is what I found after doing a google search for a little while:

If you go to run and put rundll32.exe keymgr.dll, KRShowKeyMgr, you will get a dialog box that comes up and you can remove any saved passwords from there. Even if you clear your autocomplete in IE, there were still some in here and this solved my issue.

Thanks!

That's good to know. Nice little tip to file away.
