OK, I did a search and turned up nothing.

I am SO annoyed by the clicking sound in Windows (XP) Explorer. Apparently the clicking noise of one's mouse isn't enough to denote a "click." Please, someone, help me shut this off. I don't know why I can't find the setting!

go to the control panel swich to clasic view, then dbble click on sound and audio devices, then click on the sound's tab. I think the sound you are looking for is under the Windows Explorer section. Or just swich the sound scheme to none that is what i use;)

Thanks. Apparently Start Navigation is that sound. I think I've always just bypassed it because it doesn't make any sense.
