ok im currently working on something and im using command prompt (wannabe DOS)

i would like to know how to access windows directories from it such as a file under c:\documents and settings\all users\desktop\test\test.html

if i MD (make directory) c:\documents and settings\all users\desktop\test2\ it doesn't work, it makes a directory, DOCUMENTS under c:\ and puts some random files inside , and settings\all , users\desktop\test2\

i have tried doing, MD c:\docume~1\all~1\desktop\test2\

if i do that, it creates an all~1 file in the documents and settings folder,

how can i make a directory, or save a file to

c:\documents and settings\all users\desktop\test2\

through command prompt?

thanks in advance

thanks that above link helped a lot (lots of info i needed), although i figured it out before you sent me that link

well my problem was when i did

c:\docume~1\all~1\

i had to have 6 characters, before i did "~1"

so it had to be c:\docume~1\alluse~1\

thanks for the link though, had a lot of stuff i could use.
