My COmputer is infected and I need a Hand!

Hello All!

I seem to have gotten my first ever computer infection. So far, Ive identified that I have the Windows Security Alerts virus, Anti MAlware Doctor, and possibly others. Any help would be much appreciated! :(

Wow, cool Ukranian virus. It copied lsass.exe from the system32 directory to your Temp directory & installed it's programs there as well. Then it changed your name servers to watch or regulate you surfing. At least that's what it looks like to me.

When I try to delete those first two files, it says I cannot because I need permission to. Any idea how to get around that? Should I be doing all of this not in Safe Mode?

When you run HiJack This you can select all the files Don listed and then there is a button you click to delete the entries.

That's correct. The only time you need to be in safe mode would be with XP Home because that's the only way to login as administrator. For XP Pro, log in as administrator in normal mode. If you still can delete an entry, you have to find it in the registry.
