For some reason my Internet isn't working right. I'll connect to the internet and sign on my messenger and sometimes it will work fine but then all of the sudden they will shut off and I haven't got a clue whats going on. This is a new computer. I have Windows 2000. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

We're going to need a little more information than that to help you. Are you on dial-up or some variety of high speed? Is the messenger program disconnecting or is your modem disconnecting if youre on dial up? Also, who are you connecting through? A-O-Hell :) eeerrrr A.O.L ?

Curious how you fixed it taintedmemories. I don't have exactly the same problem (except for tonight -- this one wasn't working but my other two were). Rebooted and all is well...I've been trying to figure out for months why sometimes my conection on this computer hangs. Would love to know what caused your prob/what you did. Just wondering if it could help me.

ATNO/TW,

I believe it was a virus, I got rid of it by going to housecall.trendmicro.com and scanning my computer. It works very well. Sorry for not replying earlier I never got an email.
