Norton sucks... Download AVG.. It's free and picks up more viruses than any Anti-Virus program I have ever seen.. Also look into AntiVir..

I would also scan with Spybot and Adaware..

AVG is good too although I suspect it won't do much - I had this problem last week - I tried everything and ended up reimaging my computer :x

It kept saying services.exe had an error.

Try using hijack this - I dont have the URL handy its a little exe that will show what is running on your computer - post your log in a new topic in the Microsoft Windows Forum (same as this one) There is a great post someone which explains all about it - I did a search but couldn't find it! Sorry!

To clean up your situation i recommend that you use AVG (norton sucks) along with xoftspy or spyhunter. That way your computer should be squeaky clean.

I would recommend what windows recommends

for virus & firewall: use norton internet security
for ads: use adaware
for hacking: use spybot search & destroy

if you don't trust me, go to the microsoft website and see it

adaware is for ads cleaning, you get it from here

yes norton does cost but it pays to keep your computer clean of viruses and free of hackers
