I was wondering if anyone knows how to remove icons from the Control Panel. I have some unistalled components like AC3 Filter (codecs) but icons are still in the control panel.

I'm assuming you're using windows XP. If you install Tweak UI for XP, then launch it and click on control panel it will give you the option to hide any control panel icon. This doesn't uninstall it though, just hides it.

You're right, i havent tried this...but the cool part is that u can find the cpl file in windows\system and delete it manualy....
thank you again

the key to hide them manually is to set the name in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\don't load

:D You're welcome.

I had thought of that, but was a little unsure as to the effect of deleting cpl files. Moving them is probably fine though.
