I got this mesage, before I do what it tells me to I want to make sure it's a standard message.

Word for word, on startup wrote:
WINS could not start due to a missing or corrupt database.
Restore the database using WINS Manager (or winscl.exe in the windows 2000 Resource kit) and restart WINS.
If WINS does not start, begin with a fresh copy of the database.

To do this:

1) Delete all the files in the %SystemRoot%\system32\WINS directory.
NOTE : If the wins database file (typically named wins.mdb) is not in the
above directory, check the registry for the full path.
Delete the .ndb file.
NOTE: If jet*.llog are not in the above directory, check the registry for the full path. Delete all log files.

2) Restart WINS.

This started after getting a new router & connecting a computer that I haven't used in awhile (win2k)

Other than this annoying message, nothing seems to be fouled up.
I can access the www/ftp/network places on each computer.

I usually just follow instructions in error messages but being this is asking to delete an mdb and how it wants me to look in the registry if I can't find it, i'm a little leary on doing it before asking about it first.

Thanks ATNO :) .oO(I feel like a boob)

I ended up setting the service to manual instead of automatic, seems like it's unneeded anyway. (for me at least)
