I'm running Win98SE. I have the desktop set up with the underwater theme, along with the underwater screen saver.

When I power this PC up, it runs just fine. After 5 minutes of being idle, the screensaver comes on. Looks pretty cool, huh?

If I come back to the computer and attempt anything, email, write a letter, play a game of solitaire, my cursor starts freezing up on my screen. After I move the mouse around for a bit, it begins to "stagger" around the screen. Very jerky movements (I hate it when that happens)

I'm wondering if this screen saver has anything to do with my problems. I disabled the screensaver, and it has appeard to fix my problem. But, I "like" that screensaver...

Does anyone have any ideas what might be going wrong, and how to correct this problem?

Some info... fresh install of 98SE, new mobo, 900mhz, 128mb.

thanks for any info.

ball. which I removed and cleaned. when I restart this computer, I don't see this problem, until it has had the opportunity to sit. Then, after it starts "sticking" I reboot, and everythings fine, again.

The screensaver is going to cache itself in RAM. The longer it stays on the more it will fill up. I used to run a screensaver that rotated about a 1000 pictures from my garden. Had very similar problems and the only fix was reboot. Other than nixing the screensaver, adding more RAM may help. At least pro tem
