I uninstalled 2 compilers I was trying out and apparently they took some system critical files with them... the add remove programs dialog became unstable- went to microsoft- followed steps to check registry keys, followed steps to have ie repair itself, then followed steps to do an in place upgrade... but when it tried to boot just now, it generated a stop error while trying to load windows.. message said to turn off caching and shaddowing in the bios- I know almost nothing about this kind of stuff, can someone please help

Set the BIOS back to defaults first.
