Dell Inspiron 6000 display

I installed a new hard drive after old one crashed, i installed windows 2000. now my display only has 16 colors, i can not get it any higher. How can i get better resolution? Dell Inspiron 6000

Have you installed the correct drivers for your graphics card?

How do I check my graphics card? I have tried and it won't let me do it.
