If you're not using MS ftp, e-mail, webserver, browsers then XP home is fine .

XP home +
apache
mailenable
mozilla
guildftp
+AVG antivirus
+Kerio firewall

I had pro and tried to keep everything standard and use the free software which came with the machine (KISS). One by one I had to dump the inbuilt stuff and switch to another supplier. I didn't do it for fashion reasons, purely practical. If anyone has ever tried to host more than one site on the same IP using IIS then they'll know the painful painful horrible process which lead me to apacheII. Insane that one has to figure out the entire httpd.conf file just to make a second site appear.

The main thing I have noticed is administrative options, and networking options.
