Hello creative, Welcome to Ozzu. :)

Please Download Hijack This
http://tomcoyote.com/hjt/
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html

Create a new folder in a convienent location and place Hijack this in that folder.

Run Hijack This, Scan, Save the log, post the log here. Don't try and fix anything yet. Hopefully the log will reveal the problem and we can go on from there.

See this thread for an answer. :) http://www.ozzu.com/mswindows-forum/highjackthis-and-spyware-removal-resources-and-tips-t31034.html

You've seem to have gotten an out of date version of Hijack This. Which link did you use?

V1.98.2 is the latest. It's important to use the most current version. Older versions might miss certain things...

Also, Hijack this needs to be placed in it's own folder. That's where backups of things removed will be kept.

Several things in your log I've never seen before, but my first question is that I see you are logged in as guestt

Do you have administrative rights to your computer? I've seen non-adminastrative profiles screw up quite a few things in the last couple months. if the guestt account is not an administrative account you need to log in as an administrator for the computer before you can do much of anything or get the person who does have admin rights to do so for you.

Hang tight. It's a trojan dialer

JrzyCrim and I were talking about it. There may be other things related that need fixed as well. I'm sure he's looking into it.

OK :)

Download a newer version of Hijack-This. Not sure how you ended up with 1.97. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html

Print or save the following to a text file for later reference.

Run Hijack This, Scan and check these items (don't fix them yet):

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {00000010-6F7D-442C-93E3-4A4827C2E4C8} - (no file)

Close all browsers and windows except for Hijack This. Click 'Fix Checked'

Reboot into safe mode: Tap the F8 key at the start of the boot process and select 'Safe Mode'.

Go to start > Run and enter: control Folders
Go to the view tab and check 'Show hidden files and folders'
Uncheck 'Hide protected operating system files'
Click OK

Find and delete the following files:

C:\WINDOWS\questmod.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\MTC.dll

Go to start > run, enter: cleanmgr

Make sure only the following are checked:

Temporary Internet files
Recycle Bin
Temporary Files

Click OK

Reboot normally. Run hijack this, scan and post a fresh log. Just to make sure the problems are gone for good.

I don't see anything that jumps out at me now. And you already said earlier that you managed to fix the initial problem. I'd say off-hand, looks like you've done it. I'll let JrzyCrim confirm.
