Extended and System Partitions

I was talking about older software running on newer OS is all. Typically,
I've found that since the software was written before the new OS is out,
it's not always 100% compatible and won't run.

Yes, a partition is a partition. unless you want to discuss Extended and
System partitions in more depth. ;)

yes i would like to discuss them. What are the different partions. I know FAT32, FAT16 and NTFS. What kind of partitions do you know how to create with Windows? How would i create a system and extended partitions?
