My friend formated his C drive and was going to reinstall windows but then it only asked if he wanted to install into D or other directory. So he chose 'other" but then it still intalled into his D drive. He did not format his D drive because he wanted the data on it. He needs to install windows on the C drive. Does he need to format both drives in order to install windows 98 on the C drive?

if these two drives are two partitions on one drive...
id say thats dangerouse and just plainly stupid...

if it's two different physical drives and you wanna save the info on the D: the just shut down the machine and plug out the one drive..
and format the other one copletely...
