It's pretty simple really. Use a dos floppy disk to boot up and enter a command like this:

format c: or format d: , etc...

Depends on what drive or partition you need to format.

You can get a bootdisk from here: http://bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm

These boot disks include CD-ROM drivers which is important to have for obvious reasons. Any of the Dos or windows boot disks should be fine for the simple task of formating. If you need to repartition, just follow these instructions: http://www.logan.eclipse.co.uk/fdisk%20 ... ioning.htm

Thanks to Nucleo for that link.

You can also do it with the Windows 98 install CD. The instructions are a bit antiquated, but it still works. I just did it last Friday. At least I think those are similar to what I did (I may have winged it a bit *lol)

Thanks ATNO. I couldn't remember if you could boot with the Win98 CD. I was too lazy to look...

Does it show up in Device Manager? You probably just need drivers for it.

I'm assuming you have windows 98 installed now?

Could you outline all the steps you have taken so far?
