Is there anything for Vista that will let me browse "tar.gz" files the same way I can browse ".zip" files ?

This installer package I got from sourceforge for gzip put a bunch of stuff in my start menu and installed an application, but it didn't setup any file associations that would give me an "extract here" in my context-menu or set me up to browse the files.

I've resorted to sending the gz files to a Linux computer on the network to be repackaged as zip files via SSH and then getting them back to this Vista computer for the time being.
Strong with this one, the sudo is.

Try 7-zip. It's my archive tool of choice for Windows and I think it supports gzip (among many others), as well. Really popular tool, too. One sec, I can check the format to be sure...confirmed.

I'd love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code.

You know what, I actually used 7zip as my compressed file application on Windows before I started using Ubuntu a long time ago now that I think about it. I bet if I searched Ozzu I'd actually find myself suggesting it to someone in the past. lol

Thanks for that refresher UPSGuy, it's all coming back to me now! :D
