Hi,

I've been trying to do a disk defragment and i can't because it tells me i have no admin rights. This occured after doing a registry clean. Im the only user on the PC and in the settings it says i have admin rights. What to do?

Run the program as administrator.

i try to, but it won't accept the blank password, which is the password.

And if it isn't i should be able to change it, as im the administrator right?

If you have XP Pro, click start, run, type compmgmt.msc, press enter, users & groups, users, administrator, set password, enter a password twice, click ok, reboot, login as administrator & run defrag.

thanks
had to change the password to something other than "blank" to work. Still i should have administrator rights, but i'll have to do without them.

How can that be? If you login with the admin account, you have full permissions.

I'm not logging in under administrator, im logging in with my user name, which should have administrator rights but they aren't working. When using defrag i need to run it using the admin password as it doesnt work with my user log in.

Log off or reboot & login as administrator with the administrator password.
