recently I have some problem with my windows 2000 pro logon,
when the log screen appears,i.e. 'the system tell you to press the Ctrl+alt+del to log on', all of us will follow this and press the three button to get the account input screen, but when I press these three button, i will have to wait about 2 min to see the account input screen!!! how can this be? what is the inside mechanism?
hope someone expert can help! many thanks!!!!

What is your computer's processor speed and how much RAM do you have. I assume you are saying that others on your network can logon quickly, but you cannot and have a delay of close to two minutes? Are "all of us" users on the same network? or do you mean that they are users on the same computer and they can log on quickly, but you cannot?

thanks for your kind reply,, i think no matter when i plug the network or not,it will always take a long time,,, just a week ago, the time period is about 3 seconds, but i can't recall what soft or hardware I have changed . the CPU and RAM is rather strong I think...does this process require to read some specific reg key?

I was hoping you might be able to remember what software you installed in the last couple weeks since the problem started. My guess is the answer is there. You may need to search your memory a bit and uninstall the most recent ones you can remember. That may not be the best way to fix it, but it's the best I can think of at the moment.
